Kings Road Haul!

Hi Everyone!

Today is Saturday, so I thought what better day to go to Kings Road and do some WINDOW shopping..yeah, that failed. I ended up buying three rather pricey things buy they were t o t a l l y worth it! I don't regret buying them at all, although it might be a different story when my bank statement arrives.. Aaaaanyways, here they are!

The first thing I bought was (can you say PREDICTABLE?!) yet another lipstick, but this one's special as it's from Chanel and it's part of the 'Rouge Coco Shine' collection. The shade is 'Boy' and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! All lipsticks in this collection retail at £23 so you won't break the bank but it is a little bit of an investment. I got mine in Peter Jones, Kings Rd London but see online for alternative stores. :

The lipstick has a gorgeous glossiness to it but is completely smooth and non-sticky. The glitteriness is so subtle in real life that it will just occasionally catch the light..I love it sooo much!

As you can see the lipstick is very sheer, but I wasn't surprised as it was described as such, but from the first picture you can see that the colour pay-off is lovely so I'm really pleased with it.

*Gasps at classic pretty packaging*

The design of the lipstick tip is designed so well, it's practically flat on top to allow for easy, smooth application. Before using this lipstick I use 'Bubble Gum' lip scrub from Lush to make sure my lips are completely smooth, I use it as an alternative to lip primer as I find that smooth lips hold colour really well but each to their own.
My next buy was from Mac, it's the from the 'Prep + Prime' collection. It's my transparent finishing powder, and I bought mine pressed as opposed to in loose powder form as I find it works better for my skin and is more convenient for touch-ups throughout the day. WARNING: This product does not produce any kind of coverage, I use it over foundation to even out my skin tone and de-shine my t-zone. I can't really show you a picture of my skin as the product really is completely sheer but it works magnificently and the packaging is beautiful! It'll set you back £21 but for me it's essential, the product is available online and in Mac stores nationwide. Also, the applicator is sold separately and you can choose between sponge and fabric, sponge works better for me but it depends on your skin type. :

My last product is a very pretty vest I got in the Brora sale, reduced from £32 (ridiculous) to £19 (..a little better). It's very soft, has a gorgeous shape and I just love it so snatch one up while stocks last! Available online and in UK Brora stores. Mine is in the shade of 'Teal' but they have lots of other lovely colours :

I hope you enjoyed this post, do let me know if you've tried/bought any of these products or if there are any products you'd like me to review. Well, that's all for today..

"These are a few of my favourite things..."

Hi Everyone!

So you know those things you just can't live without? Those staples that really make your wardrobe or your makeup routine etc? Well yeah, I got me some a' those so I thought I'd share them with you guys today..here we go!

My first thing is quite a recent purchase, but I really can't live without it! I snagged it in the Kildare Outlet (Ireland) of all places! It retailed originally for £200 and I got it for £60! It's my Anya Hindmarch tote bag. I use it every day as it's one of those bag that can fit everything you need it it without being huge and OTT:

The next favourite is a watch that I was given by my mum, it used to be hers and it's vintage by Ceres of New York. It's so old that I have to wind it up everyday! But it's so classic and pretty that I don't mind at all. If you like this watch then I believe American Apparel sell lovely ones in a similar style. See online or in store for details. :

The third thing is my absolute saviour makeup product. After using Dior Forever foundation for the first time I chucked out all my other foundations and just used this because it's literally amazing! It gives me flawless coverage and is not at all cakey. It's just a life saver! Sadly it's not cheap at £29 but it's definitely a worthwhile investment. Check online for details:

The next is another oldie, my Great Grandmother gave me this brooch so I'm guessing it's around 1940's origin, I wear it with dresses, cardigans and coats..sometimes even on bags as it just adds something pretty to every outfit. It's pearl, silver and I think some kind of mineral..definitely not diamond! *sigh* ;) :

ALMOST THERE my second to last is a pair of very snazzy shoes a bought in Zara, I don't usually shop at Zara but these were just too cool to pass by..they were a little pricey at £40 but we all need a good pair of heels right?? The picture really doesn't do them justice but they look great on! :

Last but not least is something not overly exciting but it's still a great buy. I always seem to make a mess of my wallet, receipts stuffed in here and there and coppers mixed in with all the pound coins (grrr) so I figured if I buy myself the single most sectioned wallet I can find I'll keep it tidy! I bought this purse in the Kath Kidston sale...I know what you're all thinking, middle-aged-woman much?! But trust me it doesn't come with any patterned kitchen-wear/tea-cosy etc. It was reduced from £25 to £10 so I was pretty happy to spot it before it became over-priced again! :

So there we go, "these were a few of my favourite thiiiiings...."

My Day and Night Perfumes

Hi Everyone!

I feel that no outfit is complete without a splash of your favourite perfume, so I thought I'd share with you my staple perfumes for day and night..even if I'm having one of those days where just nothing looks right or my makeup smudges etc, I can always count on my trusty perfumes to freshen me up! So without further ado..

Let's start with day perfume...my relatively new favourite! It's replaced my old fave which is 'Malabah' by Penhaligons, I still love that scent but it's a little strong so I only wear it on special occasions or on a more daring day. My new daytime scent is J'adore by Dior. I can't stress to you how amazing this perfume is. There's no worry of being completely over-powered by the smell as it's very light and fresh. It's not a floral smell exactly, but imagine smelling a a Lily-Of-The-Valley mixed in with just that magic something, it's hard to explain but seriously...couldn't live without it! I wear this almost every day plus the bottle is exquisite glass with very elegant shape:

My night-time perfume is a gorgeous perfume that I've had for a long time. It's 'Cinéma' by Yves Saint Laurent. The smell is so individual, it's very musky and heavy so I recommend it in small spritzes. For some reason (probably the name..*blushes*) it reminds me of 1940's Paris, I feel so glamorous wearing it, it makes me feel confident and aaah it's just amazing! Anyways...here it is:

As you can see, the design is gorgeous, for the better-sighted of you see the amazing detail on the photo above. It has Yves Saint Laurent printed all over in gold letters, I'd buy it just for the prettiness of the bottle! You can probably tell that I've used this a lot as it has about half a centimetre left..*cryface* which is depressing me since I think it might be limited edition, but definitely check it out online/in store if you're interested! What are your day and night perfumes??

I'm a Benefit ADDICT!

Hi Everyone!

So being ill today I was pretty (unbearably) bored, so decided to get all my makeup onto my sick-bed and sort it out. And this is what I found...in short, a sea of Benefit and not much else. :

It's shameful really..
It kinda puzzles me how I came to buy this as I actually have pretty tan skin anyway..probably just an impulse buy *shameface*

A girl can NEVER have too much gloss! (Pretty sure this isn't all of it)

You know how I rave about Benefit's tints? Well yeah..product of rave right there (x High beam and Benetint by two)

Ok to be fair this was a present..and it's fabulous!

....corner of shame
So there you have it! I love all these products, have you tried any of them?

Mac Lipstick Collection!

Hi Everyone!

So I was rummaging through my lipstick drawer yesterday (it's a horrible mess!) and sorted it all out, extracting my four absolute faves which all happen to be Mac, so since I'm in love with all of them, I thought I'd share them with you..here we go, in no particular order, my Mac lipstick collection:

The first is my newest purchase, it's a very daring shade with a daring name: 'Viva Glam 1'. I love to pair it with skinnies and a floaty top to subdue it a little, or preferably just go the whole hog and wear it with a ball gown! I fell in love with it the moment I swatched it and positively melted when I tried it on. It's soft, nourishing and easy to apply. My only 'problem' *notreally* is that the colour pay off is great but there's not really any versatility, either ya wear the colour or ya don't. :

The next is a lipstick my lovely sister bought me for christmas, it was limited edition so I'm not sure it's available any more, but I sure hope it is for your sake because I ADORE this colour! It's a very pretty nude-ish lipstick with a hint of shimmer and a little gloss. I wear its sister gloss in the same shade every day but often this lipstick: 'I Love Winter cremesheen' makes a guest appearance! It glides on smoothly and smells amazing. Lovelovelove:

The third lipstick is actually pretty old, I got it a while back and haven't checked if it's still available but I really hope it is because I'll be needing a new one soon! It's a dark berry colour that's very smooth and quite matte. I love how it can vamp up any outfit and is pretty versatile for different occasions. The shade is 'Desire' :

The last is a soft pinky-nude that I woudn't usually go anywhere near, but when I tried it on I forgot any qualms I'd had previously, it's so nourishing for my lips and stays put for hours without a lip primer in sight! The shade is 'Touch'. I'd recommend this to pretty much anyone:

All of the above lipsticks are £13.50 and are available in the UK, USA and Canada. See online or in store for details. Have you ever tried any of these shades? How did they work for you? Any Mac shades you'd recommend?

'I'm Glam Therefore I Am' by Benefit- Review

Hi Everyone!

So my birthday was in October, and my lovely uncle got me this gorgeous Benefit makeup set. I've been using all the different components of the set separately, but haven't actually tried them all out together. So what better time than a thursday night right? Alrighty, lets GO:

As you can see, the packaging is stunning! It's quite a big compact, 10cm x 14cm. Now I personally prefer this as it's like an alternative to a makeup bag, it has practically everything you'd need in it and REALLY everything if I pair it with my Benefit 'Realness of Concealness' compact. :

Opening it really is like uncovering a treasure trove..so many beautiful goodies:

The set contains 'Girl Meets Pearl' which is a shell pink face luminator, 'Glamming Face Powder' with brush, four eyeshadows (from left) in 'Pink Fancy', 'Icy Lilac', 'Posh Amethyst' and 'Precious Pewter'. 'BADgal Lash' mascara and 'Life On The A-List' lip gloss.

Before I switched to 'Volume Million Lashes'  by L'oreal, this is the mascara I used, I only switched to L'oreal's to have a bit of variety...but I keep coming back to BADgal! Its brilliant and gives my lashes a natural look whilst volumising and separating them. The 'Life On The A-List' lip gloss is a very pretty nude that pairs perfectly with the makeup in this compact.

'Girl Meets Pearl' is described as 'liquid pearl for the face', but it's basically just a luminiser,  I  really love it, it brightens up my face without changing my natural skin tone and evens out my imperfections so that, on a good day I don't need foundation or concealer at all!

The 'Glamming Face Powder' has a gorgeous subtle shimmer that's perfect for any occasion, I wear it most days and  love it!

I'm absolutely in love with these eyeshadows. They remind me of precious stones, and lots of their names are inspired by them! The eyeshadows aren't too shimmery which I mush prefer as I can layer them without clash. To be honest, I'd buy the compact just for these little gems!

Now for the fun part: 3..2..1 :

Before:

After:

I really adore this product and would recommend it to absolutely everyone! Admittedly, it's a bit of an investment at £30.00 but it really is worth it, everything in it is of the highest quality, and it's so incredibly handy! Hope you enjoyed :D
